Mary I (February 18, 1516 – November 17, 1558) was the daughter of Henry VIII and Katherine of Aragon. She was queen of England from 1553 until her death. Mary was a very strong Roman Catholic, and her executing of several hundred Protestants earned her the nickname "Bloody Mary".
