Bots on Wikiquote do many of automatic tasks that would be hard or boring to do manually. For this reason, they are given a bot flag by a bureaucrat. This makes them able them to:

• Change pages without appearing in Special:Recentchanges. This prevents a flood of edits that do not need to be seen as a problem.
• Change semi-protected pages, so the bot is not stopped from doing its work.

The list of bots can be found at Special:ListUsers/bot. If you want your bot to have a flag, please discuss it at Simple talk. Bureaucrats can give the bot flag and can take it away.
