GNU FDL & Simple English

This page was copied from English Wikipedia with sources linked in page history there.

I'm not sure if it would be a good idea to modify the text of a license into simple English? It's a legal document. Opinions? Kylu 05:56, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My idea is this: we probably can't translate the GFDL because it's a legal document. But we can translate this page, which says "What follows is our interpretation of the GFDL, as it pertains to the rights and obligations of users and contributors." (Simple: This is what we think the GFDL says about the rights of users and contributors and about what users and contributors must do.)
