Hi, thanks for updating the Wikiquote News. There was consensus at WQ:ST to implement the new logo; however, this proposal was rejected by the developers because it didn't meet the visual identity guidelines. Regards, SUL (talk) 17:57, 12 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fixed I'm still new. Pmlineditor  Talk 17:58, 12 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Have you purged your monobook.js? SUL (talk) 11:39, 13 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
I did some more tweaking. –Juliancolton | Talk 14:42, 13 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Welcome!

Hi! I've been away for a while and am happy to see that there are some new editors here! Good work! Coppertwig(talk) 15:10, 15 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Coppertwig. :D Pmlineditor  Talk 11:49, 16 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

QOTW

Hello Pmlinediter. I have made a bold move and picked the next QOTW using a quote from Steve Jobs. I'm sure you are already aware of this. This was my first QOTW. Cheers :) —§ Snake311 (I'm Not Okay!) 08:12, 22 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Good job, Snake. BTW, please try and add categories to pages you created (such as birth and death decades, etc.). I see you're doing good work here. Regards, Pmlineditor  Talk 08:14, 22 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Hello again. In case I have made a mistake at editing, I'm sorry. Just a reminder: I'm new here. —§ Snake311 (I'm Not Okay!) 16:04, 22 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, fine. Keep up the good work. In case there's a problem, ask me or any other experienced editor. Cheers, Pmlineditor  Talk 16:06, 22 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Can I have 10 minutes or so to finish what I am editing. When I'm done, you may change to it. Not that I'm mad, its a bit annoying when I get editing conflicts. —§ Snake311 (I'm Not Okay!) 17:07, 22 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fine. You edit conflicted me twice. :| Pmlineditor  Talk 17:08, 22 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
I assume that your edits to my work are based on good faith, but there is no need to stalk my editing. While I work on one article, you can work on another. I'm just saying... —§ Snake311 (I'm Not Okay!) 14:53, 23 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
I'm not stalking your editing. :| I just saw a new page had been created and edited it. Thank you, Pmlineditor  Talk 14:55, 23 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps I'll wait for you to finish next time. I didn't notice that they'd been created few minutes ago. Pmlineditor  Talk 14:56, 23 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

According to Special:RecentChanges, there seems to be a competition-ish thing going on between us. In case you're thinking that I am a rogue or disruptive user, I am not. Although I only joined this project a few days ago, I feel that I am treated as a vandal. I want to help out to small wikis and build articles, but I may have to consider leaving. Regards, —§ Snake311 (I'm Not Okay!) 15:21, 23 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Erm, indeed? I'm not aware of any competition. At least, I'm not taking part in such competition. And I don't think you're a rogue user/vandal/sockpuppeteer etc. etc. I think you are a good user acting in good faith. I don't want you to leave since you have been helping this project to be revived. And BTW, if you check my contribs, I often make many edits in a row and this is another such situation. Thank you, Pmlineditor  Talk 15:24, 23 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

You're a sysop

Hi, I've made you an admin per your RfA, which I've closed as successful. Congratulations! If you need any help or have questions, don't hesitate to ask me. Cheers, Tempodivalse 13:50, 26 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Tempodivalse. Now I go and delete the Main Page do some good work. ;) Pmlineditor  Talk 14:03, 26 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Welcoming

I noticed you recently welcomed Naaz, a user who has never edited. At simpleWP, we shouldn't do that, but is it different here? Griffinofwales (talk) 21:01, 29 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Welcoming new users is a way to encourage them to contribute here and to let them feel welcome. At SEWP, there is a little rule that only allows users to welcome newbies after they have made at least several edits. However we don't have any written policy on how to welcome users, so it is usually up to the editors to decide. Just answering for Pmlineditor. —§ Snake311 (I'm Not Okay!) 21:08, 29 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, but is this not slightly hypocritical? Bluegoblin7 (talk)
What do you mean? Explanation please? —§ Snake311 (I'm Not Okay!) 21:10, 29 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Ignore it, it's aimed at Griffin. Bluegoblin7 (talk)
What do you mean? Explanation please? Griffinofwales (talk) 21:17, 29 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
I'll try a different phrase that means the same thing, pot calling kettle black. A simple look at your simple contribs will explain what I mean. Bluegoblin7 (talk)
Ahem, this is bordering on NPA here, BG7. I suggest that we cease this discussion, and desist in future? Microchip08 (talk) 21:22, 29 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Oh..I learned from my mistake. I only welcome users that edit, and have been doing so for a few weeks. Griffinofwales (talk) 21:21, 29 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

<-So who gets welcomed? All users? Users who create accounts here? Users who edit here? Griffinofwales (talk) 21:26, 29 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Let's stop this discussion and go back editing articles. Have a nice day! —§ Snake311 (I'm Not Okay!) 21:28, 29 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. IMHO it makes little difference whether a user is welcomed immediately after they have created their account or after they have edited. My personal preference is to do the former, as I think it helps to encourage newly-created accounts to contribute, and generally makes their first edits to the wiki more informed with regards to policy, since they have been encouraged to read through the rules before contributing. Just my two pence. Cheers, Tempodivalse 03:15, 30 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
I got into some trouble over welcoming users at simple wikipedia (users who had edited!), and so I decided to ask a regular here what this project did. Instead, I was chased away. Thanks for the response though. Griffinofwales (talk) 03:46, 30 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
I welcomed a new user since I felt like it. End of story. Get back to article writing as Snake and TDV said. We want to do things, not discuss worthlessly here. Pmlineditor  Talk 05:28, 30 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
And the point is, at SEWP, we get ~50 new accounts while here we get 1 in a week. Welcoming someone shouldn't be an issue. Pmlineditor  Talk 05:30, 30 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
